21.03.2018

Oxygen CEO, Alex Grebnev, was one of the key speakers on the 2018 Markit Annual Securities Financial Forum, which took place in London on 21 March. This year, the forum was dedicated to the key drivers and trends shaping the securities finance industry.

During the Market Structure and Technology panel, Alex Grebnev contributed his professional opinion to the discussion of the practical applications of technology, potential impacts and benefits for the industry.

Grebnev said: “New technologies have always been highly important in the financial industry, as they are one of the main drivers of progress. I really believe that Oxygen’s model of a decentralized peer-to-peer marketplace for lending has all the chances to become a prototype for decentralized solutions for the real repo market, replacing layers of intermediaries with one smart contract”.

During the conference, much attention was paid to regulatory initiatives and the latest technological breakthroughs, such as blockchain, AI and machine learning and their impact on market structure.
